Basically, We do not store nor sell personal information.
TopKayaker.Net / Sit-on-topKayaking.com is an on-line magazine sponsored by GeoOdyssey Publications, privately owned by Tom Holtey. In 10 years as co-manager of a busy, year-round kayak shop in Hawaii, where many developments in the sport were made, Tom paddled, modified, repaired and outfitted just about every sit-on-top on the market, used and new. Designers approached he and his co-workers often to test paddle new designs in the early beginnings of the sport. After his experience as a kayak instructor at the University of Hawaii he wrote and published "Sit-on-top Kayaking, A Beginner's Guide" and later moved back to his home in New England and wrote "Tandem Sit-on-top Kayaking." An ACA Certified Coastal Kayak Instructor, Tom continues to write and appear at kayak symposia accross the U.S. with his wife and fellow sit-on-top kayaker, Athena. Sit-on-topKayaking.com was established by them in 1999 in order to seek out the best information in the sport to help the sit-on-top kayaker to be skilled and safe in all their kayaking endeavors. Tom is an alumni of NOLS, National Outdoor Leadership School, and a PADI Certified Open Ocean Diver.
GeoOdyssey Publications' website practices are committed to maintaining your confidence and trust, and accordingly maintains the following privacy policy to protect personal information you provide online. We have modeled this privacy policy after that established by the Better Business Bureau.
Release
of Information to Third Parties
Personal information will not be released to third parties except by Tom's
TopKayaker Shop for the sole purpose of processing purchase and/or refund
transactions through our gateway, USAepay.
You will read there that, basically, USA ePay uses the information collected
to fulfill your requests for certain products and services, to process
payment transactions, to facilitate billing, and otherwise deliver the
payment gateway services. Personally identifiable consumer information
is used to process payment transactions and for no other purpose.

Our mailing list is currently serviced by Net Atlantic. Net Atlantic will never use, sell, reuse, rent, loan, or otherwise disclose any e-mail, e-mail addresses, subscriber information, or subscriber personal information. Any information given to Net Atlantic will be held with the utmost care, and will not be used in any way that GeoOdyssey Publications has not consented to. E-mail addresses will never be used, sold, loaned, rented, or otherwise distributed or disclosed to any third party for any reason.
Employees and personnel of Net Atlantic who have access to a client's personally identifiable information are required to keep the information strictly confidential and are not permitted to use this information for any other purpose than to carry out the services they are performing for Net Atlantic on behalf of TopKayaker.Net.
Basic
Confidentiality Policy
It is GeoOdyssey Publication's policy that personal information,
such as your name, postal and e-mail address or telephone number, is private
and confidential, unless, as a registered Forum participant or user
of our Classifieds you request it be displayed. Otherwise, the personal
information you provide is stored in a secure location, is accessible
only by designated staff, and is used only for the purposes for which
you provide the information (such as to reply to a question or to notify
you of new articles and features on the site.).
For example, when you email a question about kayaks or gear, the personal information you provide will be used to respond. If you also indicate by email that you would like to receive information about upcoming articles or features, your personal information will be added to our TopKayakerNews list. We send out notices every one to two months to those email addresses. Instructions to be removed are included with each mailing. Your request to be removed is promptly respected.

Computer Tracking of Identifiable Information
With the exception of the Forum under some participant agreed-to circumstances,
our website is not set up to collect or distribute personal information
about its visitors. It does recognize the home server of visitors, but
not e-mail addresses. For example, we can tell which Internet Service
Provider our visitors use, but not the names, addresses or other information
about our visitors that would allow us to identify the particular visitors
to our sites. Any information obtained by these numeric averages are used
only for internal purposes by GeoOdyssey Publications staff to help them
assess information such as popular articles, "page not found" errors,
and what countries, states and cities are visiting.
It also indicates, in some cases, if you came to us through another website and helps us appreciate those referring visitors to us. In addition, it tracks information about the visits to our web sites. For example, we compile statistics that show the daily number of visitors to our sites, the daily requests we receive for particular files on our web sites, etc.
Again, the statistics contain no personal information and cannot be used to gather such information.
